What makes this situation even worse is that whenever this subject is brought up, I often hear people base their arguments on incomplete (and sometimes just straight-up incorrect) information, perpetuating a cycle of confusion and anger without end. This narrative thread has left a taste so sour in people’s mouths that some of them would go on to label FF5 as an outright terrible video game, discrediting everything it does well and refusing to listen to any reason. Among the many issues that fans of the series have with Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water, the one that stands out the most is undoubtedly its inclusion of an incestuous storyline centred around the fan-favourite character of Miku Hinasaki.
